Boonzaier was perhaps South Africa's leading cartoonist a century ago. In this large-format volume he introduces us to 48 politicians, legal men, magnates and sportsmen of the day. The illustrations previously appeared in the Cape Times. Our images show General Steyn, General Botha and Sir Star Jameson (on opposite sides at the turn of the century) and General de Wet.
About 100 unnumbered leaves printed on art paper.
This copy, dedicated "To my old friend H E Hemmens, with every good wish, D C Boonzaier. Cape Town, April 28, 1913" has been restored to very good condition with a new white Skivertex spine with black lettering and new plain endpapers.
