In his foreword, M G Hibbard Fsans writes that this corrected reissue of the [six original South African Field Force and Army Casualty Lists issued separately by the Ministry of Defence] will become a "must" for the serious collector of Boer War medals.

S Evans, a director of Oaklands Auction Rooms, notes that the correction of the original lists was compiled from official sources and with the cooperation of the Public Record Office, London. "[This new edition] will enable collectors, historians and dealers to have at their fingertips a reference to the majority of casualties sustained in the Boer War involving British and Colonial units." Later: "The Boers showed the Britsh Army many new tactics and most of these were adopted in 1914-1918 and are still employed today."

This is an unmarked near-mint copy.
