A record of the the grim changes Africa was undergoing with text, drawings and photographs by Beard who was essentially bearing witness to the destruction and carnage that man was imposing on the wildlife in Africa. . A landmark book, being the first attempt to bring to light the depredation of African wildlife by human activity of all kinds. Includes the first printing of the diaries of J.H.
