The book is a rare history of a revolution written by one of its leading protagonists.
Earlier editions of Trotsky's book were in two or three volumes. This, the first single-volume edition, came out soon afterwards, in 1934.
Full-bound in blue cloth with black lettering to the spine, plain endpapers, 1295 pp of text and index.
REPAIR. Conservative repairs are being made to the spine and the endpapers, which are cracked. These comprise a new spine, with the original spine cover laid down, and narrow tape strengtheners at the centre of the endpapers. These will largely restore the book's appearance and tighten the binding. Images: The repair had not been completed by the auction opening, so no images could be included. However, anyone interested in the lot may ask for images of the repair to be emailed to them; they will be available before the end of the auction.
OTHERWISE. The faces and corners of the boards are are rubbed. The endpapers and the first few and last few leaves are foxed, but otherwise the contents are complete, unmarked and undiscoloured.
