Publisher's black cloth binding with bevelled edges and white lettering to the upper panel and spine. Interesting "cloud-effect" endpapers with light-blue patterns on a beige background, which one would guess was most probably intended to symbolise the Eternal Kingdom.
Inscribed on the front endpaper, "Percy Kew, from The Rhodes Trust [1902 - 6] C. W. Boyd, Secretary, 7 December 1906."
Seventy-eight pages of letterpress text with accounts of the funeral ceremonies from the columns of The Cape Times, Diamond Fields Advertiser, and The Bulawayo Chronicle, followed by forty-six full-page photogravures - all on heavy matt art paper.
A valuable and seldomly seen memorial to the man who not only gave his name to Rhodesia but was also Prime Minister of the Cape Colony, first citizen of Kimberley and chairman of the Chartered Company.
A facsimile reprint of this 1905 edition was published in 1972 by Books of Rhodesia in a limited print run of 750 copies.
