Original Royal Blue boards have been nibbled. Gilt titling and crest insignia still bright to frnt board, a little dulled on the spine. Head and tail of spine a bit frayed. Some splitting of the back spine hinge. Decorated eps. Front hinge split over entire length at fep, webbing intact. 6cm split at bep from head of hinge. Outer pages foxed. Frontispiece plate followed by unpagenated index and 384 pages. Plates inserted approx every eight pages of text. Bite of paper from leaves 382 and 383 at top of spine hinge and small quadrant (1cm x 1cm) missing from top front corner of pages 345-352
