Appendix: title In Sacra Biblia Graca ex Variantes, on verso Syllabus abbreviatoinum; Scholia etx., 186p.: 1p. bearing note Lectori, ip. blank. (+3 blanks).' Tightback bound in old full mottled calf, very worn, bottom half of the spine eroded away, corners worn, front hinge split and holding weakly on the ties, lower hinge split, extensive notes in an old hand in French on the front and rear free endpapers and blanks, with an oval bookplate of Peter Gunning D.D., Farmborough, staining of the text which is quite extensive towards the end. First edition of the LXX. printed in England. Possibly a reprint of the Sixtine text, with the scholia and variants. Edited by John Biddle (1615 - 1662), the Unitarian controversialist, who was imprisoned by the Parliamentary Commissioners for his religious views. (from D. & M. no. 4692)
