Former copy of art historian and author Frieda Harmsen with her bookplate on front endpaper. Harmsen wrote the date of acquisition of this copy below her bookplate in pencil. There are also a few light marginal notes in pencil by Harmsen and a newspaper clipping announcing the death of the artist has been neatly laid down at the end of the text.
This is the fhe first monograph to be written on the Abstract-Expressionist South African painter.
