CAVALRY DOCTOR - Letters written from the field 1900-1901 during the Anglo-Boer war by Col. A.F. Russell . Russell born in 1856 graduated from Edinburgh University as a surgeon.  His surgical training coincided with the introduction of  antisepsis by Joseph Lister.

Dr. Isobel Robertson, a grand niece of Colonel Russell, has compiled a chronicle from letters written to his wife during the period her served in South Africa . The story is told of endurance, doggedness and determination that helped to save lives and militate suffering of the wounded. 

The book is signed by Dr. Isobel Robertson. 325 pages Plus maps, Bibliography, and five pages from a pamphlet printed privately probably about 1918 with names of Cavalry Division from the relief of Kimberly (including Deceased Officers)

The Book was privately published by Dr. Isobel Robertson in 1979.
