Book is housed in the original olive green slipcase and enclosed in its pictorial presentation box.
208pp. Illustrated with colour and black & white photographs throughout. ROLL OF HONOUR on pages 168 – 204.
The limitation and signature pages are both protected with tissue guards.
The signature page contains the following valuable original signatures of the main actors in the drama of the U.D.I. and the transition to black rule:
1.) The Hon. Josiah Z. Gumede - President of Zimbabwe-Rhodesia and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
2.) Bishop Abel T. Muzorewa - Prime Minister of Zimbabwe-Rhodesia and Minister of Defence (First black Prime Minister).
3.) The Hon. I. D. Smith - Prime Minister of Rhodesia 1964-1979 (and principal architect of U.D.I.).
4.) Lieutenant-General A. L. C. "Sandy" McLean - Commander of the Rhodesian Army.
5.) Mr. Ken Flower - Director General of the Central Intelligence Organisation.
6.) Lieutenant-General G. Peter Walls - Commander of Combined Operations.
7.) Air Marshall Mick J. McLaren - Deputy Commander of Combined Operations.
8.) Air Marshall Frank W. Mussell - Commander of the Air Force.
9.) The ninth signature, being that of Commissioner P. K. Allum - Commissioner of the British South Africa Police, is absent. A loosely inserted slip, signed by the author, explains that the Commissioner did not sign the presentation page because of the changed political circumstances in 1980.
Two original order forms are included. At the back of the forms it is stated that:
"This collection of signatures is of great historical value. Zimbabwe-Rhodesia was a country with a very short life-span, but its creation was a crucial part in the transition of white-ruled Rhodesia to black-ruled Zimbabwe. Bishop Muzorewa and President Gumede, although they played a minor role in the events shaping the final outcome of the struggle for Zimbabwe, nevertheless they will have earned their place in history books of the future. Because of their short tenure of office, their signatures will add greatly to the value of this limited edition."
