An original painting on art paper by Philip Bawcombe who became famous for his series of books containing his paintings of South African buildings, including Johannesburg, Potchefstroom, Kimberley etc. He also illustrated dust jackets eg. "Not without Honour, the Life and writings of Olive Schreiner" by Vera Buchanan-Gould.
All of Bawcombe's paintings for his book entitled "Kimberley" were purchased by the Oppenheimer library.
