The firm of A. Adams of Eshowe was founded in 1881.The Adams family traded throughout Zululand and were well connected. When Charles Adams died, one of the pallbearers was Chief Mshiyeni ka Dinizulu. The Adams family donated many items that had been given to them by the Zulu Royal family to the Natal Museum. Objects included items from Mpande, Dingane and Cetshwayo. This work provides an interesting glimpse into Eshowe and Zululand in mid-Victorian times.
