With 5 coloured multiple folding plans & sections, 14 photo plates, folding table with "Annual output of the mines in the Witwatersrand Goldfields from 1887 to June, 1895", "Table of monthly outputs of the Witwatersrand mines from 1887 to June, 1895", folding table with "Summary of dividends paid by Witwatersrand gold mining companies from 1887 to June, 1895", table with "Schedule of Mining Companies showing Capitalisation and Market Valuation at 19th June, 1895. Johannesburg quotations". Including the chapters "Gold law and mining regulations" and "Gold production and dividends". Also contains 80 in-text figures, and many other tables, statistics, calculations, etc.

Original red cloth hardcovers; Text in English; Collation complete - False title, Title page, xvii, 306 pages, with 80 in-text figures, 14 photo plates, and 5 coloured multiple folding plans and sections (the list of contents calls for two maps at rear, but they been printed only for a first impression of the first edition of this title - this is a second impression of the first edition without two mentioned maps); Binding is tight and firm, slightly rubbed, discoloured and dusty, corners and spine extremities bumped, short surface cloth tear to the upper front joint (2 cm). Otherwise the binding is strong and whole, no outer or inner cracking. The text block/pages and all plates are very bright and clean with little yellowing, a few pages with pencil annotations to the white margins. Some pages have water stains at the top corner, a few pages with a few very light foxing dots. A good copy.
