1913 first edition hardcover in red cloth. This copy has been rebound retaining the original front cover and spine. New endpapers. Binding very tight. The folding map has some wear. 347 pages. Scarce book on hunting and soldiering in Kenya and Uganda.

"An officer in the King's African Rifles, Wilson mixed military activities with sport. En route to an assignment on the Nile, he bagged his first elephant. Along British East Africa's Mara River, he collected roan antelope, eland, and lion and hunted buffalo from a machan. His best chapters recount his elephant hunting adventures near Nimule on the White Nile. As Wilson notes, 'I personally find an elephant easier to kill than a snipe, but then I'm a vile shot with a scattergun'

(Czech, An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books, 1785 to 1950, p.175)."
