A scarce Rowland Ward publication, this work focuses on noted Polish sportsman Joseph Potocki's (author of Sport in Somaliland, etc.) efforts to create a fabulous game preserve at Pilawin (in modern Ukraine) to provide a wild habitat for the breeding of elk (European moose) and importing American and Siberian wapiti, the red deer of the Caucasus, European bison and American bison.

Original blue cloth with gilt titles and photo inset on front board. Spine titles dulled and spine cloth age darkened. Original brown endpapers fading near the edges. Well illustrated with numerous photo plates and text photos.
