Original postcard depicting General Louis Botha and his war staff compliment. In the background is the 'Vierkleur', the flag of the Boer Republic of the Transvaal; on the central white band are the words: 'God Bescherm Het Recht' and on the vertical green band: 'GEN. L. BOTHA' (interestingly with the letter 'N' being the wrong way around).
The caption reads: 'A reminiscence of the Boer War - General Louis Botha and his staff', and underneath: 1082 Published by Sallo Epstein & Co., Durban. On the reverse side of this unused card, on the stamp rectangle are the words 'Phototyped in Dresden'.
Condition: good; the photograph is colour tinted, and of normal matt texture (not glossy) with a little browning on the lower front edge. The rear has a patchy, discoloured appearance, and some of the surface has been scrubbed off affecting a small portion of text at top left.
