"From the Earliest Times to the Present Day." This is the South African edition, the Engish edition was published by Horace Marshall and dated 1898. This edition is not dated. Original light blue cloth boards with gilt titling and decorations on the upper board and a decorative device on the lower board. All edges gilt. Yellow end papers. xvi prelims, cosisiting of a frontis, title page, plate, poem, preface, list of illustrations, contents and a plate of the Tugela Falls. The illustrations and map total 93. Paginated to page 197, of which 86 are text, with 35 in text illustrations, a map and 52 plates. CONDITION DETAILS: The binding appears clean and fresh, but does have some edge wear and several small white spots. The free front end paper is loose. A used copy with minor blemishes.
