This is a very early work referencing Johannesburg (see page 34), which was proclaimed a city in October 1887. The Rand Gold Fields had then only recently been thrown open and in a few short years the once bleak, wind-swept Transvaal grassland was transformed into the Golden City.

A very scarce title.
