The binding is remarkably flat, square, and structurally rigid, with sharp corners and microscopic shelf friction at the spine ends. Text block is robust, tight, and remarkably bright white; pages are crisp and entirely free of internal markings, highlighting, or ownership names. The original graphic dust jacket is whole and completely intact, with the daring typographical art remaining crisp and showing only faint storage-related aging; free from heavy spine chips or structural tears.

Notes: Published in 1965, Orgie is recognized as one of the most radical, visually experimental, and historically significant texts of the iconic Sestigers literary movement. Moving entirely away from traditional linear prose, Brink constructed the novel using multi-layered dialogues, unconventional page arrangements, and raw poetic imagery to deconstruct an intense relationship. Challenging the deeply conservative social structures and publishing codes of its era, original copies in high-grade condition are exceptionally scarce.

André Philippus Brink (1935–2015) was a foundational pillar of modern Afrikaans literature alongside Breyten Breytenbach and Ingrid Jonker, later serving as Professor of Literature at the University of Cape Town. His extensive literary archives and manuscripts are permanently preserved within the University of Cape Town Libraries Special Collections.
